A:Standard high-pressure fans (vortex/centrifugal) can operate continuously at full load for 24 hours. The surface temperature of the fan casing is generally between 50°C and 70°C, and the motor casing temperature is between 60°C and 85°C. Under normal conditions, this will not burn out the motor or damage conventional sealing components.
1. What is the approximate actual surface temperature when running continuously for 24 hours?
① Vortex high-pressure fan (the most commonly used type)
Ambient temperature: 20~30℃
Continuous full-load operation for 24 hours:
Pump body / fan housing: Approximately 50~70℃
Motor housing: Approximately 60~85℃
It will feel very hot to the touch, but this is a normal temperature rise within the design specifications.
2. Could it burn out the motor?
Vortex Blower (Reputable Brand)
The motor is generally designed for S1 continuous duty, allowing 24 hours of uninterrupted operation.
It comes with built-in overheat protection (thermistor / thermal protector).
As long as:
- It does not stall or get overpressurized and shut down
- The intake is not blocked
- Altitude and high temperature do not severely exceed the selected specifications
The motor will not burn out under normal conditions.
Risk situations (will burn out):
- Intake blockage, fully closed valve causing pressure buildup → Current surges
- Excessively high altitude, poor heat dissipation leading to long-term motor overheating
3. Will it damage the surrounding seals?
It mainly depends on sealing material and actual temperature: Approximate temperature resistance
range of common seals Common rubber (NBR): -40 to 100℃
Fluororubber (FKM/Viton): -20 to 200℃ Silicone rubber: -60 to 230℃
Vortex Blower: Housing temperature 50~70℃
Completely safe for NBR and fluorine rubber
Will not scorch seals, oil tubes, or wire insulation
4. In which situations should temperature rise be particularly monitored? When the ambient temperature itself is ≥ 40℃, when placed in a closed small room/cabinet with poor ventilation, at high altitudes (above 3000m) where heat dissipation is poor, during frequent start-stop operations, long-term pressure holding, or reverse blow conditions. In such cases, the surface temperature may surge to 85~100℃+, accelerating motor insulation aging and significantly shortening the lifespan of seals.
