Fire Pump Activation Methods

The relationship between the fire control room and the fire hydrant button activation is related to the activation method of the fire hydrant pump. There are generally two activation methods for fire hydrant pumps. The first method, under bus-based interlocking control, allows the fire hydrant button to transmit the activation signal to the fire control room console via a linkage interface module located near the fire hydrant. This interface module then outputs a switch contact that activates the fire hydrant. The second method directly transmits the switch contact of the fire hydrant button to the fire hydrant pump activation box. Both activation methods can be used in practical designs. The first method reduces wiring requirements but requires address coding programming of the fire hydrant linkage module under bus control to monitor a large number of fire hydrants. The second method is simpler and more reliable, but it also requires the return of the fire hydrant activation signal to the fire control room. Designers can choose the method based on the specific project scale. Large projects with complex architectural forms are suitable for the first method, while smaller projects are more suitable for the second method. The sprinkler pump automatically activates by shattering the glass bulbs in the nozzles of each protected area at high temperatures, inducing water flow in the pipes, which in turn activates the alarm valve pressure switch and achieves the purpose of automatically activating the sprinkler pump. Through the water flow indicator linkage module or the alarm valve pressure switch, the fire control room can accurately receive the activation signal and directly control the start and stop of the sprinkler pump.
