What Are The Precautions For Using A Fire Pump?

1. The water inlet pipe must be tightly sealed to prevent water and air leaks.

2. Do not operate the pump for extended periods in a cavitation state.

3. Do not operate the pump for extended periods in high-flow, low-head conditions with the motor overcurrent.

4. Regularly check the motor current during operation to ensure the pump operates within the design operating range.

5. The pump must be supervised by a dedicated person during operation to prevent accidents.

6. After extended operation, if mechanical wear causes increased noise and vibration, the pump should be shut down for inspection and, if necessary, replacement of vulnerable parts and bearings. The overhaul period is generally one year.

7. Mechanical seal maintenance and care:

  • The mechanical seal lubricant must be clean and free of solid particles.
  • Do not operate the mechanical seal in a dry (waterless) condition.
  • Before starting, crank the pump (motor) several times to prevent damage to the mechanical seal caused by sudden starting.
